Founded on 9 August 1991, WDB Trust was created to empower women and rural communities during South Africa’s early days of democracy. At its inception, the Trust aimed to combat the severe poverty affecting women in rural areas, who represented the majority of those living below the subsistence level. The Trust’s mission is to empower women as leaders of their own destinies, promoting economic and social upliftment.
